Just Plain Disgusted

I am just plain disgusted!

I am sick over the inability to stop a oil leak that is destroying my favorite ocean areas and the wildlife that inhabits the area.

I am fed up with the continuous lies told by our elected leaders.

I am sick over the moral decay of our society.

I am tired of discontented, jealous, hate filled people spewing vile and malicious statements against their fellowman.

I am sickened by those who can only see the bad and never search for the good in people.

I am dismayed with people who seek pleasure at the expense of others rather than finding peace and happiness within themselves.

I am disgusted with the lack of respect for others and lack of self respect in our people.

I am saddened that it is taking longer and longer for our young people to mature and become responsible.

I pray for those who lack compassion for their fellow man.

I miss my gentle friends who worked so hard to keep peace and ensure justice in the world and could always find the good in people.

At this time in the life of our nation, we as a people should be building our neighbors up rather than tearing them down.  We continue to advocate that we are a Christian nation, but do our actions reflect a Christian attitude. 

On Our Soil

Could the people of the United States survive a military conflict on US soil? Do we know how to be alert and cautious? How would the citizens of Atlanta, Georgia or Orlando, Florida or Dallas, Texas respond to an attack on these highly populated cities?

I think of the bombing and fighting in the many cities of the Middle East and Asia and wonder if the American people would pull together and support each other if we were in the same situation. The people of our country can be so passionately divided on many issues, yet if needed, would those differences interfere with the support and compassion needed in a military conflict.
