Adding Another Interesting Link

As a result of an email requesting support the site found at WWW.webcommentary.com has been added to the interesting sites list in the left hand column. According to the email I received and Web Commentary, a treaty will be signed by many world leaders in Copenhagen at a gathering taking place from December 7 -18. The words "world government" are used in the text of the treaty. If signed by our President, America would surrender her sovereignty to this one world entity. The United States Constitution requires all treaties be ratified by a 2/3 vote of the Senate.


I have more research to do on climate change and global warming, but this is not something I could support if the treaty reads as stated. Please contact your US Senator and express your views. Our United States could be brought to her knees without a shot ever been fired.

Dementia

Sitting in his folding chair, absorbing God's wonderful sunshine, he notices some grass getting too close to his roses. He decides he will go to the shed and get the hoe after he rests for a minute. Nope, he better do it now, before he forgets. The walk to the shed is a familiar one. He has walked that walk thousands of times. So many early mornings, before the sun came up, cows waiting to be milked, then back to the house for breakfast before he started on the fence or the fields. Now where was he going? Those plum trees sure do look pretty, but need to get those weeds out from around them. The old dairy barn needs a new roof. Maybe it can be done next year. What was he going to the shed for? When did it get to be so far from the house to the shed? Go on Max, you gonna make me fall. That old dog wasn't good for nothing but to get in the way, but he sure was pretty. Sitting down on his work stool, he tried to remember what he came out here for. It was getting awfully hard to remember things these days.

Wake up! Wake up! The phone is ringing and Mama ain't here to answer it. "Hello. What do you want? Who the hell is this?" Slamming the phone down he heads for the bathroom. That dang medicine makes you have to go and go and go. He can't go anywhere anymore because of the dang medicine. Finally, back in his chair to finish his nap. Who was that on the phone? Blasted con men are always calling trying to get you. You can't trust anybody anymore!

"Can you rub my arm? It aches like a toothache. Not that arm, what are you rubbing that arm for? It don't hurt. It's the other arm." These people are idiots. Always trying to get me to do what they want me to do. All I want to do is stay right here and everybody leave me alone. "You tell that damn doctor I am not going back to that hospital. Hell, they try to kill you up there and I am not taking that medicine anymore."

Dementia is hard on everyone - the patient, the caregiver, the frequent visitor, even the doctor. It doesn't matter what stage the dementia patient is in, these people can no longer control where their minds wander. They say and do things they would have never done before. Patience and understanding is suppose to be the key. Do you have the answer?

How the "Old Ones" Must Feel

I haven't fought any wars. I did lose a cousin to the Viet Nam War - not conflict, WAR. I had friends that are not with us as a result of the same war and many friends and relatives that served our country in their endeavours to free the South Korean people from the tyranny of North Korea. I also know some that left the country to exempt themselves of service. My father fought in World War II as did many other relatives and friends.

I am appalled and offended by the actions and demeanor shown to tyrants of foreign countries by our President. President Obama seems to forget he is no longer functioning as an individual living in the land of the free, but rather represents ALL the people of this great nation. How must these relatives and friends feel with President Obama apologizing for the American people? After what they have done to protect the freedoms of not just this great country, but the freedom of those people that have solicited the aid of our armed services in their battles against tyranny, how do they view the actions of our President?

I received an email today presenting a letter to President Obabma from a 95 year old man. He served before, during, and after WWII. Mr. Estes says "I am amazed, angry and determined not to see my country die before I do, but you seem hell bent not to grant me that wish." Mr. Estes' feelings are eloquently expressed to our President. I know my father feels the same way as do many, many friends.

I sincerely hope that President Obama takes to heart the many letters he must be receiving from people just like Mr. Estes. As Mr. Estes advises our President, "You could be our greatest president because you face the greatest challenge ever presented to any president." I agree, President Obama could be the leader this nation needs to pull us all together in this time of economic stress, or he could be the downfall of the America we so proudly call home.

Finally Mr. Estes advises "Losing the heart and soul of who we are as Americans is our big fight now." America, the land of open arms, golden opportunities and freedom can be made stronger by the actions and words of President Obama or he can continue to exhibit shame at being president of an ignorant people and a heartless nation. It is up to him now, but remember he only has 3 years and 1 month left before his bid for relection.
